GLP Taylors, the UK’s premier healthcare agency, is delighted to announce the successful sale of Melbury House in Dawdon, County Durham to first time buyers - signaling an increased willingness from banks to encourage new entrants to the sector.
Melbury House, which is part of Moorland Care Ltd, is registered for 24 clients, providing bedroom accommodation in 22 single and 1 twin room – with 15 enjoying en-suite facilities. The home occupies a detached converted property, located in the centre of a pleasant village community in the Durham countryside.
It is the first venture into the care home sector, for the purchasers Mr R Roney and Ms S Patel. Funding was provided by the Newcastle-upon-Tyne branch of Lloyds.
Julie Kitson of GLP Taylors commented “I am very pleased to have been able to assist both Moorland Care Limited and the purchasers with this transaction and it is encouraging to see that bank’s are still willing to fund first time buyers in this sector. I hope that 2010 will result in more transactions like this taking place.”
